The ‘Late’ St. Andrew’s Ball on 19 March is now cancelled. We look forward to greeting you all at the St. Andrew’s Ball 2022 this November.
Dear members, friends, sponsors and partners,
It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce the cancellation of the ‘Late’ St. Andrew’s Ball, in keeping with recent local regulations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and large social gatherings.
After making the difficult decision to postpone the Ball last November, no one imagined we would make an even harder decision to cancel the Ball. However, with the resurgence of COVID-19 through the Omicron variant within this month in Shanghai, we felt it was our obligation to protect the health and wellbeing of our community members and to cooperate with the authorities.
We would like to thank all of our 400+ guests who bear with us for the past few months for your patience and understanding. We also truly appreciate our main sponsors and partners – Britannica International School Shanghai, Dulwich College International, Ray Fine Wines, Edrington, Brewdog, naked Group, JWDK, CIIC Marketing Services, Kerry Pudong and Jing An Shangri-La – for your trust and continuous support.
Thanks must also go to our many in-kind sponsors for their kind donation of prizes which should have been used for lucky draw and silent auction to raise funds for Xiersen, a local NGO that aims to improve the condition of special education in China. For businesses and individuals who would like to further get in touch with Xiersen and offer support to their latest project, ‘Special Slices‘ (a project which focuses on promoting the awareness, acceptance and inclusion of adults with special needs through the power of manga), please feel free to contact support@xiersen.org.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. For guests who have already booked tickets through completion of payment, we will release ticket refund in full amount to the original payer in bank transfer. Due to huge volume in refund, please kindly be patient and collaborate with us. We expect to collect necessary information and process refund by 30 March 2022.
