On the afternoon of 6 June 2023, BritCham Shanghai and AustCham Shanghai jointly hosted a roundtable meeting with cross-industry members and government representatives from UK and Australia in Hangzhou. This is the kick-off event of the two Chamber’s Yangtze Delta region outreach series.

At the roundtable, Stuart Dunn, Executive Director of BritCham Shanghai and Simon Woods, CEO and Executive Director of AustCham Shanghai shared our joint outreach plan in 2023 to cities across the Yangtze Delta region.
Attendees exchanged their opinions on a number of topics including current business situations, market opportunities, business needs and how the Chambers and government representatives can support business in Hangzhou from both cultural and advocacy perspectives.
It was a great opportunity for members to explore business opportunities and collaborations in Hangzhou and Zhejiang Province. BritCham Shanghai members who attended the roundtable were: BE Education, Diversitech, 8 Hours Ahead, Dentons, eCargo as well as UK government representatives from the British Consulate General Shanghai and British Council.
Following the meeting, representatives from member companies and communities joined a social mixer at Hotel Indigo Hangzhou Uptown. It created a perfect opportunity for British and Australian communities in Hangzhou and surrounding areas to meet face-to-face and enhance future cooperation.
Both Chambers are looking forward to continuing this dialogue to mutually benefit the business communities we serve.
