On 2 March, BritCham Shanghai was delighted to meet with Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange (SUAEE). SUAEE Chairman Mr ZHOU Xiaoquan welcomed BritCham Shanghai Chair Ray Chisnall and the Chamber delegation. Both organisations had an in-depth exchange on topics over strengthening cooperation.
Zhou Xiaoquan introduced the basic positioning and important role of the equity market in China’s capital market, as well as the achievements of SUAEE, as a leading enterprise in China’s equity industry, in promoting the construction of non-standard markets and serving the development of the real economy through the “double-wheel drive” of the equity market and the securities market; and in implementing the national strategy of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals; as well as helping to build Shanghai as an international financial centre and a global science and innovation centre by leveraging the synergy of multiple platforms.
SUAEE looks forward to working together BritCham Shanghai to form a synergy to leverage their respective resource advantages and explore the potential for cooperation in the fields of technology, finance and ESG. In addition, to provide more services and support for Chinese enterprises to “go global” and foreign businesses to “come into China”.

In 2022, one of the Chamber’s key focuses will be ESG related activities including the Summit in September and the Awards in October. Ray agrees with Mr Zhou that there is huge room for cooperation between the two organisations through resource sharing and complementary advantages.
