Lessons on gender equality for a world in turmoil
This new report by UN Women and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) shows how countries can lead a more gender responsive recovery from the pandemic and be more resilient in future crises. The UNDP and UN Women COVID-19 Global Gender Response Tracker is the foundation for these insights. The report analyses this unique global dataset of close to 5,000 COVID-19 measures from 226 countries and territories and finds that overall government responses have not paid enough attention to gender dynamics, often failing to mitigate the pandemic’s negative effects on women and girls.
