Friends of Ocean Action Impact Report
Phase 1: 2018 – 2020
Friends of Ocean Action has been driven by a deep commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG14, the so-called “ocean’s goal”.
The first phase of Friends of Ocean Action demonstrated a collective strength and steadfast commitment to a healthy ocean. Building on that strength, the Friends have elevated and encouraged worldwide ocean action throughout business, academia, international organizations, science and government circles. While the vastness of the ocean is matched only by the complexity of the problems it faces, thanks to the quality and influence of its members and secretariat, Friends of Ocean Action has been able to rise to the challenge by maximizing resources, amplifying calls to action and engaging an ever-growing network of leaders and practitioners around the world.
