The major risk with corporate ESG initiatives is greenwashing, leading to NGO lawsuits, government penalties and various other claims. This seminar is an opportunity for participants to discuss corporate greenwashing risk management strategies.
The phrase “greenwashing” has come to mean overstating or misrepresenting ESG claims. Businesses are increasingly marketing the ESG benefits of their companies and products. Government regulators, shareholders, employees, and consumers examine ESG claims and are on the lookout for exaggerated, overstated and unsubstantiated claims.
